Letter to the pnm
Phi Mu was founded in 1852 by three women as the Philomathean society. It is now the second oldest sorority in the nation and continues to uphold the ideals of academic development, service to others, a commitment to excellence and lifelong friendship.
We, as the Rho Iota chapter of Phi Mu, have made monumental strides in creating an authentic, diverse, and genuine sisterhood for our members. We all possess varying talents and passions, ideals and beliefs, but one thing that consistently unites us is the love for our national philanthropy, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Rho Iota members have the privilege of serving first hand to one of the Children’s Hospitals but also have numerous opportunities to partake and support in other philanthropy events and clubs.
Joining Phi Mu has been nothing short of impeccable and unimaginable. I did not join a chapter house. I did not join Greek letters. I did not join a place. I joined people. People who encourage me daily to be unapologetically myself, to excel in every endeavor I do, and to face everything with confidence and humbleness. Rho Iota has granted me the opportunities and abilities to explore who I am and grow as a person. I am constantly surrounded by women who not only stand by their values but stand by me and mine. The relationships I have created, the support I have been given, and the love I have been shown is immeasurable and because of this, I am forever thankful Phi Mu found me.
