In addition to Primary Recruitment, University of Kentucky Panhellenic also offers an informal recruitment process called Continuous Open Bidding (COB). COB allows students who either did not participate in Primary Recruitment or who did not join a Panhellenic sorority during Primary Recruitment the opportunity to join a sorority here on campus through a more personalized and casual process.

COB takes place during both the fall and spring semesters. Fall COB begins on Bid Day following the conclusion of primary recruitment. Spring COB begins on the first day of classes for the spring semester in January

Not all of 14 chapters participate in COB, only the chapters that are eligible. Because chapter quota is reset each semester, the chapters eligible to participate in COB and the total number of spots each chapter has will vary each semester.

The list of eligible chapters for COB will be announced on the Panhellenic website and the Panhellenic Instagram on the day that COB begins each semester.

COB is open to any full time undergraduate woman at the University of Kentucky who had not signed a Membership Recruitment Acceptance Binding Agreement (MRABA) during that academic year's fall Primary Recruitment (students who signed an MRABA during fall 2026 recruitment would not be eligible for fall of spring COB in the 2026-2027 school year. They would be eligible for Primary Recruitment or COB beginning in the fall of 2027).

Students interested in joining a sorority through COB are encouraged to fill out the COB interest form. The interest form will be posted around a month prior to the start of COB. It will be posted on both the Panhellenic Instagram and the Panhellenic website. Filling out this form allows for our chapters to know who is interested in the COB process!

Each chapter participating in COB structures their COB process differently. Some may host large recruitment events at their houses, some may ask girls to coffee-dates, and many will do a little bit of both. Events are usually shared on chapters Instagram stories, and they may reach out to you to meet you! We also encourage you to reach out to eligible chapters over Instagram DM to express your interest in joining their chapter!
