A Word From Our President

Dear Panhellenic Sisters, Potential New Members, Parents, Alums, and anyone else who may be reading this,

I am so glad you’re here! My name is Hannah Karimi, and I have the honor of serving as the 2026 Chapter President of Alpha Chi Omega – Delta Omega. You will often hear that the sorority experience is about finding your “home away from home,” and I’m no stranger to that statement. Despite Lexington being over 1,300 miles from where I grew up, Alpha Chi Omega—and the entire Panhellenic community—have made the University of Kentucky the place where I wholeheartedly know I belong.

When I walked through Alpha Chi’s big red doors for the first time in Fall 2023, everything clicked. The first conversations I had with women in this chapter were centered around leadership and finding a sisterhood that would be a constant source of support. Over the past three years, Delta Omega has taken those expectations and exceeded them tenfold. It has become an environment that challenges me to grow, pushes me outside of my comfort zone, and surrounds me with Real. Strong. Women. who genuinely want to see each other succeed.

As president, I have a firsthand view of our members striving to uphold our three core values: Wisdom, Devotion, and Achievement. Wisdom is reflected in our commitment to intellectual growth and in the way we treat one another with integrity and empathy. Devotion is shown through the unwavering loyalty and love we have for every sister. Achievement is our shared drive to continuously seek the heights. My goal is to bring these values to life every single day and continue building on the culture that has built me. I want every member to leave these four years knowing exactly what she’s capable of—empowered by every experience and opportunity along the way.

What makes Alpha Chi Omega so special is its ability to create truly transformative experiences through service. Our national philanthropy is Domestic Violence Awareness, and Delta Omega has the privilege of working closely with GreenHouse17, a local shelter serving survivors in the Lexington community. Through hands-on volunteer opportunities, we are able to make a tangible difference while approaching this work with compassion and open-mindedness. Our philanthropy has built a foundation for leading with empathy and perseverance, all while creating lifelong memories through unforgettable experiences.

These years truly will be some of the best of your life—and I wish I had listened sooner every time someone told me “Blink and you might miss it”. It’s hard to put into words just how impactful this journey has been, but I can confidently say there has never been a moment without joy, comfort, kindness, or support when I’m surrounded by Panhellenic women. My life has been shaped in ways I never could have imagined—and if you’re considering Kentucky Panhellenic, I know yours will be too.

The Primary Recruitment process is nothing short of transformative. Every house you walk into, every room you step through, and every conversation you have will be filled with encouragement and support. You are meant to be here—and you are meant to be unapologetically yourself. If I could offer one piece of advice come August, it would be this: don’t try to fit into a room, find the one that fits you. Your place and your people are here, and you have over 4,500 women rooting for you every step of the way.

I am deeply grateful for Alpha Chi Omega and everything it has given me over the past three years. I can’t wait to share more of what makes this experience so special—it’s even better than I imagined walking through those red doors.

SO much Love in the Bond,

Hannah Karimi
