A Word From Our President
To the Panhellenic Community and Potential New Members,
Joining the Panhellenic community has been one of the most meaningful and rewarding experiences of my time at the University of Kentucky. Arriving on campus without knowing anyone, I hoped that participating in primary recruitment would help me find my place. Gamma Phi Beta was the chapter I found myself continually returning to. The women, the conversations, and the values all resonated deeply with me. Recruitment can be challenging, but throughout the process, I felt supported, encouraged, and genuinely seen by the members of Gamma Phi.
I used to wonder why so many women choose to join the Panhellenic community. Now, I understand that there is no single reason. This community offers something unique to each person who becomes a part of it, and every member carries her own story. For me, Panhellenic provided a space where I could grow, feel comfortable, and become the best version of myself.
Representing Gamma Phi Beta is an honor, and I am profoundly grateful that the Gamma Omicron chapter chose me. Since our founding in 1874, Gamma Phi Beta has remained steadfast in its commitment to the values of love, labor, learning, and loyalty. These values guide our sisterhood and shape the way we show up on campus and in the broader community.
Our philanthropic focus, Building Strong Girls, reflects our dedication to supporting young women. We regularly volunteer at Girls on the Run 5Ks, where we have the opportunity to help build confidence and encourage healthy development. We also host Moonball, a campus-wide volleyball tournament, with all proceeds benefiting the Central Kentucky chapter of Girls on the Run.
Gamma Phi Beta has given me more than I could ever fully express. Through countless opportunities, meaningful involvement, and lifelong friendships, I have grown tremendously. Each member has positively influenced me and helped me become a stronger sister, student, and leader.
Love,
Caitlyn Cox
