Letter to the PNM

Hey y’all! Welcome to the University of Kentucky, we are so happy you chose to be a Wildcat! Leaving home can be scary, but embrace this opportunity to find yourself and make lifelong memories. I found my home away from home in Alpha Phi-Iota Nu. Alpha Phi was established at Syracuse University in 1872. Our sorority was founded upon the belief that women needed a chance to come together, grow, and change the world. With these beliefs in mind, the Alpha Phi foundation was created as our philanthropy and focuses on supporting women’s heart health. This past year, our chapter was the top fundraising chapter in the eastern and southern quadrant raising 60,000 dollars. Hosting many philanthropy events such as our annual Red Dress Gala and Mac N’ Phis, we were able to raise this money hand in hand with our sisters.

To me, Alpha Phi is more than just two greek letters. It is a place I can be seen for who I am and a place to belong. I have laughed, cried, and learned with my sisters. I am constantly surrounded by hard working women who push me to succeed. Alpha Phi has not let me fall. When I am weak, I have sisters around me to be strong. I have never once stepped into the doors of Alpha Phi and felt anything but love.

As you go through recruitment, remember who are are and hold onto the values that make each of you special. I hope you all find the place you feel most loved. We can’t wait to welcome you to the Big Blue Nation!

Vice President of Membership Recruitment,
