Letter to the pnm

In the late 1860’s, two women at Monmouth College sparked the idea of a women’s fraternity and soon after, in 1870, Kappa Kappa Gamma was born. 40 years later, the Beta Chi chapter became the second national women’s fraternity to join the Greek community on UK’s campus. Today, our members continue the rich traditions by promoting our values and exceeding expectations.

The women of Kappa have a strong passion for service and love to support our national philanthropy, Reading is Fundamental. We have donated over 2,000 books to local elementary schools in the past year on behalf of RIF, as well as a multitude of other resources and supplies! Kappa has also established a foundation that helps collegiate members and alum by providing scholarships and other funds when needed. In addition, the Beta Chi chapter continues to serve the Lexington community by participating in local fundraisers and service projects.

I joined Kappa in the fall of my freshman year and it has proved to be one of the most important decisions I have made thus far in my college career. I have grown into a confident woman because of the support I receive from every member in my chapter. They have encouraged me, laughed with me, and loved me through all of my college experiences. I know I will have these friends forever and I hope you are able to find that in Kappa too!
