Letter to the PNM

Founded in 1873, Delta Gamma has grown from the first chapter in Oxford, Miss., into a worldwide sisterhood with more than 250,000 members. The Delta Beta chapter of Delta Gamma at the University of Kentucky was founded on May 19, 1963. At the corner of Pennsylvania and Columbia Avenues you’ll find our house, affectionately known as “The Deeg.” Delta Gamma is built around our founders’ four core values: to foster high ideals of friendship, to promote educational and cultural interests, to create in women a true sense of social responsibility and develop the best qualities of character. Our Greek letters, Delta Gamma, symbolize our motto, “Do Good.” To us, “Do Good” is more than just our motto – it’s a way of life. Our symbol is an anchor, the age-old symbol for hope.

It is with hope and joy that we welcome you to the University of Kentucky. Delta Gamma is so excited for you to begin your journey here. Before coming to college, we knew we wanted to join a sorority in order to find lifelong friends and future bridesmaids, but little did we know how much Delta Gamma would mean to us. Delta Gamma has shaped us into the women we are today and given us a genuine, authentic sisterhood. For that, we are forever grateful. We cannot wait to welcome you to “The Deeg” and for you to experience the love, laughs, and support of the sisterhood of Delta Gamma.

Always Anchored,

Kristen Smith and Meghan Morrison
