Letter To the pnm

On October 24th of 1902, Delta Zeta was founded by six young women. It is over a century later and the sisterhood and love are as strong as ever. Delta Zeta was the first sorority to be founded at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio and now encompasses the lives of 260,000 members around the United States. The Alpha Theta chapter was founded in 1923 and is one of the oldest chapters on campus.

Delta Zeta strives to encourage women to be as genuine, loving, and authentic as they can be. We encourage our members to be their unique and fun selves. We want to make women feel proud of who they are. As Delta Zetas, we try to make everything fun and to not take ourselves too seriously all the time. We support each other every day and try to have a fun-loving, positive attitude in everything that we do.

Alpha Theta members give graciously, lead, and serve in our chapter and on campus. We are truly lifelong learners. We host two annual philanthropy events: a male beauty pageant, Mr. UK, and a dodgeball tournament, DZ Dodge. Three organizations within Hearing and Speech are supported through our events: the Starkey Hearing Foundation, Painted Turtle Camp, and Lexington Hearing and Speech Center. The Lexington Hearing and Speech Center gives our members the ability to volunteer locally, which allows us to watch our hard work pay off.

Delta Zeta is so excited to welcome you to the University of Kentucky. We cannot wait to meet you during Recruitment!
